RAISE Learn
RAISE Learn sessions are stand alone professional development opportunities and focus on refined areas of practice. They are designed to promote a collaborative and supportive learning environment, encouraging both teachers and support staff to share ideas, experiences, and resources.
By participating, staff members can refine their teaching skills, gain new perspectives, and develop a deeper understanding of effective educational practices. These sessions contribute to the overall professional growth of staff, ultimately benefiting students and enhancing the quality of their education.
RAISE Learn sessions follow the formats outlined below:
Best Practice Learn sessions are led by staff from across the Trust who share best practice from their classroom or department area. Participants can learn from their colleagues’ experiences, gaining insights into how these practices can be adapted and implemented in their own contexts.
Book Meet Learn sessions are led by staff who share summaries of key literature and how these can be implemented into schemes of work (SOW) and the classroom. They aim to bridge the gap between theory and practice by demonstrating how the insights and findings from academic literature can be applied to curriculum planning, SOW, and classroom teaching.
Teach Meet Learn sessions offer a more informal and interactive format, providing a space for educators to share “nuggets” of pedagogy—quick, effective teaching strategies or techniques—linked to specific themes. These sessions are designed to facilitate peer learning, where educators can come together to exchange ideas, explore new approaches, and inspire one another in a collaborative setting.

Excellent tools were shared that could be easily implemented. The strategies were modelled really well but most all, I feel the session was tailored and adapted to the needs of the group.”
