Community Provision

A school’s success is deeply intertwined with the strength of its community. When communities are actively involved, students feel a greater sense of belonging and are more likely to engage in their learning. Furthermore, community partnerships can provide valuable resources, such as mentorships, internships, and real-world learning experiences, that enhance the educational journey. At RAISE Education Trust our community as an integral partner which creates a richer, more fulfilling educational experience for all our students and our local community.

The Dart Centre

The Dart Centre is a community venue for all ages who wish to engage with performing and visual arts.  With an emphasis on arts, crafts and cookery our centre run courses are all led by professional tutors and artists.

Workshops are available during the week and on Saturdays with something for everyone. We also encourage local artists to exhibit work in our foyer space, sell handmade items in the craft shop or perform at open mic nights and other performance platforms.

The Dart Centre has both specialist rooms for dance, drama,  art and music. These spaces are available for hire during term time and holiday periods throughout the evening and weekends.

The coffee shop is a popular place to sit, chat and enjoy homemade cakes and barista coffee.

Our aim is survito provide  high quality workshops and classes at affordable rates for anyone aged between 4 and 104.

The Dart Centre  is open from 8:30 am to 9pm daily and Saturday’s 8:30am to 4:30pm.

The Berry Theatre

The Berry Theatre is a professional theatre that we are lucky to be able to use for our school productions, but which hosts a full programme of children’s theatre, film, stand-up-comedy and community shows.

The Leisure Centre and Community Offer

Located in the centre of Hedge End, Wildern Leisure Centre was originally opened in September 1979 and has been helping the local community get active ever since.

The Leisure Centre is on the Wildern School site, a short walk from Hedge End Village, with nearby bus stops and only five minutes from the M27 and a twenty minute walk from the railway station.

Our community facilities have now extended since the opening of Deer Park School in 2021.  With his new provision we have been able to develop and enhance our community offer catering for all interests, experience and ability.
