The Trust IT Support service offers schools and academies more than the traditional ICT ‘break and fix’ service. It is designed to provide a one-stop shop to manage your ICT infrastructure proactively, minimising downtime and disruption to the school day by identifying potential faults before they happen. Our team has a wide range of technical expertise to ensure a consistent level of service at all times.

Oversight of the IT helpdesk so that Staff Students and Parents can submit IT-related issues. This involves logging, prioritising based on severity/effect on learning and providing timely responses and solutions
The team will investigate any technical issues that the on-site technicians are struggling with. We will find the root cause, find a solution and assist the on-site technician in implementing it. Relevant notes for any issues found would be logged in an IT knowledge base and are discussed within the team.
Software can be requested from the IT team. Once the specific piece of software has been deemed appropriate to solve the given issue and the costing approved the IT team will install and configure it
The on-site IT support team maintains hardware devices such as computers, printers, servers, and networking equipment. This includes regular maintenance tasks like cleaning, updating drivers, and performing hardware upgrades when necessary. The Trust IT-Support team will support this process and attempt to make cost savings where possible
The IT support team manages the Trust’s network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points. They ensure network connectivity, monitor network performance, and troubleshoot network issues to minimise downtime
They implement and manage data backup solutions to prevent data loss in case of hardware failures, cyber attacks, or other disasters. In the event of data loss, they are responsible for restoring lost data from backups to minimise disruption to business operations
IT support professionals play a crucial role in ensuring the security of school systems and data. They implement security measures such as antivirus software, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems to protect against cyber threats. They also educate employees about best practices for cybersecurity to minimise the risk of data breaches and security incidents. There are many layers to this role, every member of the IT Support team, both on-site and Trust will play their part here
The Trust IT Support team will provide training and educational resources to help employees understand how to use company IT systems effectively and securely. This includes conducting workshops, creating user manuals, and offering one-on-one assistance as needed
IT support teams maintain an inventory of Trust’s IT assets, including hardware, software licences, and peripherals. They track the lifecycle of IT assets, ensure proper disposal of obsolete equipment, and manage procurement processes for new IT assets. The will be operated daily by on-site technicians, but audited by Trust IT Staff

Ordering parts in bulk will often reduce the cost. The IT team can then work with the finance team to distribute parts and charge the right amount to the appropriate budget. Bulk savings do not just relate to physical purchases, but to routines and procedures too. Admin tasks can also happen at the Trust level saving time for member schools
Being part of a trust allows schools to pool their resources and expertise. This can result in greater access to specialist staff, facilities, technology, and funding, which can benefit all schools within the trust and lead to improved educational outcomes for students.
